Re: Buried cigars?
I am still not convinced. Looks good, looks like it could work. But what is the temperature in the bottom of that hole? You don't have a hygrometer or thermometer in there so how can you be sure your cigars are not still at 80 degrees?

Re: Buried cigars?
Just put a toxic poison sticker on it and it will get left alone.

Re: Buried cigars?
The heat is slowly getting pulled out of the tube. I've had a thermometer in the bottom for the past 1.5 hours. Last time I checked it was 68*. I'll run and check it now....
It is now 66* in the bottom and 80 at the surface. I expect it will eventually get to cellar temps of about 57* at the floor of the tube. |

Re: Buried cigars?
Well in that case, congrats!
Just be sure you mark your hole somewhere, I can see the winter dumping 2 feet of snow on that and making you wonder where your cigars are. |

Winter in the bottom of that pipe will be pretty darn cold! The tube is about 5' from my house. There is no way that I can loose track of it. I've been carefully considering how to install a lock without compromising water tightness. i think I have a good solution and will post picture later today or tomorrow. I'm still waiting for the UPS man to deliver my cigs! |

Re: Buried cigars?
I think a name for this tube storage is needed.
How about "The Cigar Sewer"? |
