Re: First Firearm Thread.
lovin the flat top AR. Is that just a heavy barrel or is that chambered for .308? meh... maybe not. The upper doesn't look like it's capable of handling .308.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Got some new parts in for the 10/22 yesterday. Trigger pull went from 6# + to right about 2.5#.
Also doing some long term baby sitting on a 1948 Remington Model 81 in .300 savage. Spend all day Sunday bringing it back to life and still have more work to do. Going to take it out to the range and see if it blows up before I do anymore work on it. This is not the rifle but looks just like this one. Just a lot more beat up. |

Most recent purchase:
6 1/2" Glossy Stainless Single Six w/ fixed sights ('baby vaquero'). A little mother's polish and it shines like a mirror now. I never knew single action revolvers could be so fun. |

5.56 upper comes in next week, and I recently got in a Ciener .22 conversion (hence the black dog magazine). Can't wait!

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Well I shot that old Remington Model 81 today and my shoulder is officially p.o.'d at me. Makes an old Mossin Nagant seem like a .22. The thing bit my thumb while loading it, then it proceeded to pound my shoulder into mince meat after only one 5 shot group. Aluminium butt plate didn't help and I sure could have used a shoulder pad. Yah, I'm'a wuss. Said 'thank you very much for the experience' and laid it back down in order to spend some quality time with my other guns.
