I like N.A. gin too. Different flavor profile. Much more orange/citrus than juniper. $17 for 750ml or about $23 for 1.75L is pretty cheap.

Vodka -
Pretty much only ever get Svedka, Stoli or Smirnoff (maybe it is an 'S' thing). Ocassionally Dipping Springs or Titos from Austin

Bourbon/Whiskey
I am a 95% Jack Daniels guy. Ocasionally I will get Weller Reserve.

Scotch
Balvenie Doublewood was my first and still my favorite.

Rum
Sailor Jerry

Gin
Tanqueray with the lime (whatever it is called)

Barton's Irish Whiskey $14.99/1L Made by Cooley, better than both Jameson and Bushmill's base offerings IMO. I alternate between Barton's and Powers ($19/750mL), but I have 1 opened and 2 unopened Liters of Barton's in the cupboard right now, so I guess it is my current favorite.

Some other reviews and awards if MY opinion isn't good enough for you.

I also enjoy alternating between $15-$20 bourbons such as Weller Antique S.B. from Cork and Bottle, Evan Williams S.B., Four Roses Yellow, Very Old Barton, or Old Granddad 114.

N.A. gin is as good as others have mentioned, for the longest time a nearby store had it for $10 with a $2 mfr coupon hanging from the neck of the bottle. It hasn't replaced Hendrick's for me, but at 1/3 the price when mixed with tonic and lime it just makes sense.

For sipping rum it is Flor De Cana Grand Reserve (7 year). I like this better than the Ron Z or the Z brands and its around $18 - $20 a bottle.

Messed myself up for a lifetime of single malts with cigars for a pint of battery acid at age 17 during a New Year's Eve blizzard. Wish I could go back in time, and get something other than lighter fluid.

My runaway fave for bottom-shelf is Forty-Creek Barrel Select Cdn whisky. Secondary maturation in (cdn) sherry casks, this is cheap and pretty good. It's not just me saying it either - John Hansell (Whisky Advocate) really likes it as do many whisky snobs.

I find the sherry finish stands up to even med - strength cigars.

If I could get some up here, I'd buy Weller 12yr...

That's actually a young Glen Garioch. McClelland's is a brand owned by Suntory-Bowmore that bottles their own whiskies.

Highland = Glen Garioch
Lowland = Auchantoshan
Islay = Bowmore
