I'm not absolutely positive about it but I've heard that I'm related to Claude Provost, a hockey player for the Montreal Canadians from the mid-50's to the early 70's. |

Re: Famous ancestors?
My great + a bunch (used to know, now I forget how many) grandmother is Mrs. Bixby. Who? you may ask? It's a famous letter from Lincoln that was used as the basis of the movie "Saving Private Ryan". She is the one in the Civil War that lost all but one of her sons during the war and Lincoln hand wrote her a letter basically saying that she shouldn't of had to lose all of her sons. In the movie, this is the reason that they went and saved Private Ryan so that Mrs Ryan didn't have to have the same fait.

Re: Famous ancestors?
No one in my ancestry ever did a darn thing that I can think of to make them famous other than practice for an event never to ever have been seen in the Olympics after all (90 mile rafting).

Re: Famous ancestors?
I have two ancestors who were in the Confederate army. One was 75 years old when he joined, so he really didn't do anything, but one of the cousins was reported to be in the Savannah Artillery. As the story goes, he was captured as a POW and resided in a northern holding facility until he was pardoned by President Abe Lincoln just 3 days before the President's assassination.

Re: Famous ancestors?
My cousin (through several marages) is Scott Fujita line backer for the Saints.
One of my (insert random number of greats) grandfather was Dr. Mudd, fixed John Wilcks Booth (Sp?) leg after his fall off the balcony. And randomly found out today that one of my (again insert random amount of greats) grandmas was hung during the Salem witch trials. I don't think I'm a wizzard though

Well, there's my "great to the nth power" grandma. But much like I doubt any of you will brag about your great-great-uncle Abner the horse thief, we don't talk much about Eve due to "the Garden incident."
