I always try to keep some Cuban Corona Maduros on hand, I also like the Magnum R Rosados and Tampa Sweetheart Maduros.

Tampa Sweethearts are a cigar I've never tried. I need to order some. I've only ever heard good things about them.

Re: What is Your Opinion of Arturo Fuente Cigars
I've been in the anti-Fuente camp for 6-7 years. Anejo, Opus, Don Carlos all ok, but way overpriced for what they are. Anything with green in the band made me gag. Hemingways are overrated and bland - maduros and naturals. I never questioned the construction and consistency...just that no AF ever gave me flavors I cared for.
But, then, early this year I had an 858 Sun Grown. Fanfreakingtastic. I've gone through a few boxes of them and they are still great. I've added Cuban Beli SG to the mix, as well. So.....I no longer bash the entire line of AF.....but I'm pretty limited in what I like of the Fuentes. |

It's like we're twins. I was never a big fan of Fuente. I respect their cigars for the quality that they are, but the flavor, I hate that tinny flavor that they all have. The only exception for me has always been the 858SG and 858R. |

Re: What is Your Opinion of Arturo Fuente Cigars
Big fan of Fuentes! Regularly smoked Opus, Hemingway and Don Carlos over the years. I don't consider these collectible or age worthy cigars though and treat them as ready to smoke immediately, never had a box last longer than a year anyways.

Re: What is Your Opinion of Arturo Fuente Cigars
Arturo Fuente cigars are what got me into cigar smoking in the first place. The Hemingway series was my favorite family of smokes for a long time. Then I started trying the Anejo, and 858 Maduros. These cigars are what turned me onto the dark side.

Re: What is Your Opinion of Arturo Fuente Cigars
I like them all, especially the maduros. I smoked a lot of AF when I first got into a smoking rotation. I think Opus are overpriced and more hype than they should be. Hemingways are good. For the price of the upper AFs, I have a lot of other choices nowadays.

Re: What is Your Opinion of Arturo Fuente Cigars
Was a big Fuente fan back when I really started understanding cigars, spent most of my hours on CF for a few years, hit a few of the CFC events around the turn of the century.
Started out with the Chateau line and moved on to Don Carlos from there. Remember my first Opus X like yesterday (XXX from Iwan Ries I smoked at the Chicago Hyatt Brass Bar in 1999 with a Chimay Blue). Still enjoy these as a top 5 in the domestic arena. Anejos hitting the spot more than most others these days though I do enjoy the Hemingway line, ocassional Opus and the 858SG. You really can't go wrong with a Fuente. |
