its interesting that you say that. i seem to find the OpusX is nto good until it has had a year in the humidor. they do age well. however, each year seems to age differently than others. my favorite year of Opus is the 06. the 2007 didnt age as well and i dont like it as much. every year since 06 has been slightly less impressive than the last. i have yet to smoke my 2010s but i have high hopes for them.
Ive noticed that i like the OpusX that have a darker wrapper. the 06 wrapper is darker than the 07 etc...

whatever the weather conditions that happened the year that wrapper was grown i hope they repeat themselves and soon. LOVE the darker ones.

if you look at the original release Opusx, those wrappers are DARK. they almost look as dark as the anejo... almost. an untrained eye may even call them maduro if the band was not on there.

I like the #4 and the PL in the regular line. Age does Opus well, but if you can't wait to smoke it, just dry box them for a day. As someone else mentioned, the wrapper on these is so oily and drying them out a bit will help with the common burn problems.

For a fresh Opus, it would be the Petite Lancero followed by the P-cats.

For an aged one, the #4 and the Power Rangers are quite good with 5 years on them.

I thought 2010 was a great year for Opus, obviously its my go to cigar
more than any other, the only thing stoppin me from smokin the bigger ones is time restraint. But i like the 4`s, FF, 2`s and Sharks, PC`s, 5`s too.

I will agree with both statements here. I stopped buying Opus X last year because the recent releases were too harsh and not what I expected from the Opus X line. The older one, particularly the 06 and 07 were good fresh, and even better now. I was even disappointed with the Lost City series as well. Of the recent production, the Opus Shark was the only ones I've had fresh and liked. For the most part, I have stopped buying Opus X, and I am even contemplating selling off part of my Opus X drawer from my vinotemp.

After having a few more Opus lately I need to revise my initial stance. I have to give the nod to the XXX. The PerfecXion No. 2 is a close second, but it's a little large for me as Opus tend to burn very, very slowly.

Fuente Fuente and power Ranger, I have a few left but it's been a few years since I've actually purchased any. Most of my money goes towards the leaf of another island. I do enjoy an Opus every once in a while though.
