Re: Dryer prices :( (Is it just me)
We just made an offer on a house, and it seems we're going to need a washer, dryer, stove, and fridge. Looking around on Craigslist, it seems we'll be able to get nearly everything almost new under $1000.

First it was hear how quiet the new dryer is compared to the old washing machine. Nope I said sounds the same to me. Then it was but they don't match, I said who was the last person to see them besides you? Answer I don't know, but I think they should match. I said I think cigars should be free on Tuesdays, whats my chance of getting a free one tomorrow? She walked away mumbling Chas |

Seriously though, what's with matching appliances that are rarely seen by anyone other than the user? Matching kitchen appliances, yeah. Matching toolboxes, oh yeah definitely (lol). Matching plates and saucers, eh. Matching washer/dryer, forget about it. Though I guess we all have things we're particular about - mine just ain't the dryer. But if I add a new DVD drive or (*gasp*) floppy drive (yep, still want one) they damn well better match the PC case ............ so I guess I see it now.

I like the Sears Outlet for appliances. Buy something with a small nick on it and you get it for about half price. And still comes with a full warranty. |

Re: Dryer prices :( (Is it just me)
We bought the matching front loading washer & dryer about a year or so ago. Ours are made so that the dryer goes on the right, and the washer goes on the left, so the door swings work properly. But my house is plumbed so that the water source and drain is on the right, and the dryer exhaust is on the left. So the doors have to be opened one at a time, which is a nuisance when you want to shift the laundry from the washer to the dryer.
So, I guess this is the long way of saying to check out your water source and dryer exaust options, and the door swings, BEFORE you buy front loading washers & dryers.

Happens to the best of us. The mismatch part is only the first attempt to get you to bite. Bet the next thing she tells you is the washer is not working right. Then, she will convince you the new washers are much quieter, more efficient as can handle larger loads and hence save on water and electricity, and lastly, they are much more environment friendly. Get ready.
