Re: Cigars in Cinema
Haven't watched my all-time favorite movie in quite some time. I am watching now, and noticed that in the ballroom scene, almost all the men are smoking cigars.
The Shining (1980) Jack Nicholson, Scatman Crothers

Time Bandits (released in the 80's) had a cigar scene on board the Titanic.
Maverick (Mel Gibson) had several cigar smoking scenes. Superman (Christopher Reeve) The boss of the Daily Planet seemed to always have one in hand. |

Cheech Marin is smoking a cigar during the opening credits in Cheech and Chongs - The Corsican Brothers (1984). Just saw it today on coffee break at work . I gotta say that this was the only one of their movies I can't take , just brutally bad .

Pork Chop Hill (1959) Gregory Peck. When one group of soldiers find another group of soldiers, one hand a cigar to another soldier. He lights it, and then they almost get hit by a mortar. In the next shot you see him looking at the destroyed cigar and toss it.

Swept Away (2002) Madonna. When Madonna does her little mambo dance routine you see her with a lit cigar, she puffs once and then puts the cigar in the mouth of the captain. And no, I didn't watch the movie, I saw this fragment while zappin'

I'm going to have to add "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield. Burt Young is smoking a cigar in a few scenes.
