Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Nope, just the leavings from whatever coffee I been drinking. I put them in a special container when there is not enough left to make a pot. And once a week or so, just grind and brew whatever is there. Sometimes it is AMAZINGLY GOOD

Mexican Peaberry was very nice, sweet and chocolatey this morning. Monkey mix is fine this afternoon.

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
just a quick qeustion. i was at the local market and they have roasted beans for sale. the beans are in a clear bag which allows you to see inside. the bag has some oil from the beans on it, so does that mean that they are not good anymore?

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Hard to say. Where were they roasted? When were they roasted? What are they? Oil is normal, it seeps outa the beans after they have been roasted, or during, depending on how dark you roast them. Also, different ways of roasting will produce more or less of the oil. Air roasting=less

Once you hit a dark Vienna or Darker (French) the natural oils will come to the surface of the bean. If they are not that old, they are probably fine. |

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
There is a local roaster but I wanted to get something better for my parents, other than folgers. The market has 5x the amount for the same amount than the local roaster. Not sure if the roaster has something more generic in a larger quantity.
