He seems to have other staps that are stiched better, but those are pics. This is the only 100% custom strap I own, but I do own other expensive straps in skins. Do you have a site for your straps? |

Word to the wise...do NOT buy an expensive watch without papers unless you are 100% certain of the source...I have a friend who bought a Sinn U1 rep and you cannot tell the difference...apparently they are coming from China and some dude is putting swiss Eta-2824's in them and selling them as reps...but if you didn't know it was a rep you would not be able to tell. I had an authentic U1 that I bought used for $1750 and it looked identical to this rep...ir crystal, bead blasting, smooth edges, bezel tightness, EXACT! Very scary.

I've heard about employees taking a few parts at a time and assemble a watch over a year or so (at several companies). It would be "authentic" in sense until you send it to get repaired at the factory, lol...

I just got a new watch in, and I have a sizing question. Right now it's a bit too loose, but if I remove one of the links it's way too tight and uncomfortable, so I'm stuck in the middle. Is there anything that can be done about this aside from having someone make a custom link (too much $)?
Does anything exist, maybe a thin round pad of some sort, that could be applied to say the back of the watch to help with the fitment?

Wear it loose, you'll get use to it. Many people think a watch is too loose initially and then are fine with the fit. The only other solution is to buy a strap and swap the bracelet...

You're right, didn't notice that. That would give me a few MM's tighter which might help.
Edit: That helped a little bit, but could still use it slightly tighter.

Some brands have half links which are used for this purpose.

pics would help, sometimes there are micro adjustments in the clasp (but I think you found those already)...
on the watches I have the 4, 5 or 6 micro adjustments = 1 link span, so its easy to get an exact fit. |

e-man told me about a Longines. I don't remember what model it was, just that it had a blue face which I liked. I just never heard of the name before. Well, I don't know anything about watches, the only watch brands I know of are (Rolex, Relic, Fossil, and Timex)

Longines is the same level as TAG, Omega, Breitling, Baume Mercier... 800k+ a year manufacturer. When I say at the same level, I mean you are getting a similar watch at what ever price point you want pay. A 2K Longines will be on part with a 2K Omega in terms of finishing and complications. Longines name I think has suffered some with lower end products on the market. They should drop them like Omega did. I really dig Longines Charles Lindbergh line. Very classic and understated. A watch you won't get sick of too fast.

Agreed. A good friend was an authorized dealer for quite a while and, from what I understand, another issue they had in the American market was when they allowed them to be manufactured for a while and sold in the US under their label but without really any quality control. For the money, I think they make a very good watch and I'd take one over a Tag and the like.

Longines has some watches that are cast the brand in a negative light. There are a lot of Nazi era emblem Longines army watches They are also infamous for their 1972 Munich Olympic watch which actually quite nice looking, but questionable poor taste to wear. ![]()
