They had the 2022-01 also. But I had my friend grab that bottle right before Christmas.

141 proof. You could run your car on that.

Anyone else see all the hubbub with ECBP C923 and the laser codes?

Did you ever see "Lawless" with Tom Hardy, Bob? Great movie, and Shia LeBoof does exactly that.

That some people are saying some laser codes are better than others? Bourbon's version of box codes?

Well, I must have gotten one of the lesser codes, because I wasn't all that impressed.

Yea, supposedly if the laser code you want is A23. The A22 is getting lesser reviews.

I won't be grabbing another unless it's at MSRP.

Yeah, Lawless is worth a watch for sure.

I have not heard this, but would be surprised if there was a difference between what was bottled one day vs the next for something that there was only one batch of. That being said, who knows. I was able to grab a pair at SRP over the holidays, pretty happy with the bottle I opened in that it is some great bourbon and an excellent batch of ECBP, probably wouldn't put it as best whiskey of the year but I've spent more than $80 on bottles I like a whole lot less many, many times

Good bottles are getting so rare around here. Weller anything, Eagle Rare, McKenna 10, haven’t seen that level of bourbon around here in a couple years. Too many restaurants buying all the allocated bottles around here. Sucks.

I went to tasting at a friend's house (ok, his garage) last night. Tried a boatload of different whiskeys, so many that I got so buzzed I forgot to take a picture. Some of the pours were single barrel picks, Russell's (several), Knob Creek, Elijah Craig. Then some others I've never tried... Russell's Single Rickhouse, some 70's Wild Turkey, 70's Old Fitzgerald, Lot B.

A guy who does a lot of barrel picks for our group came and brought me two of their latest Knob Creek pick. Unfortunately, the Maker's Mark and Elijah Craig picks I ordered weren't in yet.

Those KC barrel picks are always good. My local store just did one of those and a barrel of Larceny (probably my favorite budget bourbon).

It's true, Pete, all the sib Knob Creeks I have had were either good or great. And if you can find a 14-15 year barrel, even better.

Is the Larceny a barrel proof pick, or closer to normal proof?

This one is a normal proof pick but last year they got a barrel proof that I still have and it's great.

Did a little hunting today. Found a few surprises at my main B&M. A Midwinter Nights Dram, EC18, Woodford Reserve Triple Sonoma Finish. Decided on the WR after talking to one of the managers. Also, looks like I’m on the raffle list for this year. Last years is already set.

Hit up a couple more stores, not finding much. Went to one I don’t frequent often. Now I remember why. They had the same WR I bought, but for $50 more. Their normal prices are slightly above msrp, then they get you good on the HTF stuff.

Nice to find stuff like that in the wild at a fair price, Bob.

Local FB guy offering up 2 Booker's Mighty Fine, each for $20 less than retail. How do I say "no"?
