Re: First Firearm Thread.
pistol grip has it's purposes... but damned uncomfortable to shoot em
Went ahead and pulled the trigger on a couple of inexpensive stripped lowers. I have serious doubts they'll show up anytime in the next 18 months... but *shrug*

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Hey guys I am looking into getting a sub compact or whatever they are calling these days. I have shot a M&P 40c and am looking into the shield not sure if I want the 9 or the 40. Also looking at the Walther pps or the kahr pm. What do you guys think? Anyone you like better? Is there something else I should be looking into.

Hey Justin I don't want to come across as a gun snob....
MIM parts matter to me, they are used for one reason and one reason only and that's to save a buck! I have seen many mim parts just snap / break . If I am surrounded by walkers the pistol I want on me hopefully will have no powdered metal parts Quote:

Re: First Firearm Thread.
If you're looking for a SMALL carry gun, take a look at the DiamondBack DB9 - its about the size of most pocket .380's, but gives you 6+1 9mm. I love mine, and their customer service has been excellent.

I have the 9mm. Had the .40 in my hand and almost bought it but wasn't sure how the recoil would be so got talked into the 9. Love it so much that have plans to eventually get the .40 also. Very smooth to shoot and very accurate. They definitely live up to all the hype and then some. Another one I am a big fan of, but pricier is the Sig P239. My wife has the P238HD which is the .380 version and is a charm of a gun in every aspect. Miniature 1911.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Thank you for all the great info guys. I still have a lot of research to do before I make a purchase but I am pretty serious this time after thinking about getting a nice cadet piece for quite a while. I love my ruger kp90 but there is no way I could carry it.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Anyone here carry a 1911 in an IWB in the small of their back? Looking for some recommendations on a holster. I have a Desantis Tuck This II I use for my Kahr, thinking about something similar that gives me some options for carrying a 1911.

Hope all is well. Miss the pasteles. I love this guy's holsters. I have one for all my concealed guns. He will make it any way you want. Reputable, well made, reasonably priced. Highly recommend him and he makes the for 1911's. He also makes neat pouches for an extra mag. Very, very comfortable to wear. http://pjholster.com/

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Thought you Firearms guys would get a kick out of this.
This Ruger at Bud's auction must be truly worth the while as it is currently at $300,000. Wonder how desperate that bidder is right now to get someone to cancel this bid on an otherwise $1,600 rifle. NUTS!!!!
