Actress in the show "Simply Gershwin", a musical comedy with dancing from George and Ira's time. It was part of the Ragtime Street fair at Greenfield Village.

That's the Doolittle Raid plane, right? My two guesses, without resorting to Guugle, are B-24 or DeHaviland Mosquito.
Am I wrong twice? In your last post, at least you told us they were balloons. |

Re: Photography Thread
This made me laugh....I walked up on the wolves and they were howling up a storm, and even after the alpha saw me, he kept on with it, but he was RIGHT NEXT TO a fence, and the shot was crap. So I walked around to shoot the other wolves howling, but once they saw me it was over in an instant. And also, once they stopped howling, pecking order immediately took over again, and this wolf was run off by a higher-ranking wolf. i like how he is not only running away, but sticking out his tongue, haha. |

This is the saddest part of the lives of my new best friends at the Memphis Zoo. They have a really
cool area to hang out in, but it is NOT what they would like best. Sure there are tunnels, and yes there is sand spread over the top of it, but concrete tunnels lead to scraped up noses, and I hate it for em. |

Re: Photography Thread
Finally had time to shoot a few pics. So much work and so little time.

Re: Photography Thread
WOW, I like those, and as Ken Rockwell says, 'my work is all about color, "lol.
A moment of silence please on the death of a good friend today. I picked up a third D200 two weeks ago at Ado, I keep a spare of all my favorite cameras, at least the ones that are capable of full matrix metering on manual focus lenses, since I have become heavily invested in them. But since I had a spare, this one was going to my nephew...too good a deal to pass up. Turns out when I got it and took a pic and checked the EXIF data, it had 105,000 shutter actuations. I thought the D200 was rated for 150k, so I was not worried about 105k, outside of the general disappointment of getting such a nag, cheap or not. SO I took it to work today to test some things and it crapped out. Last night it had stopped reporting the proper aperture, I could turn the wheel all day and it stayed at the max ap on the readout. Today I took it out to shoot an old El Camino out back and it started having shutter errors. In a bit of a panic, I ran in to check the invoice, and for ONCE in my life, I had two weeks to go til I would be out of luck on the return. But ADO is nothing if not solid on returns, so I will get my $100 back and they will get their camera back. My nephew....well he's a little bummed. I had told him it had 105k but that it could crap out in a week or just as easily live longer than him with luck and care. Turns out Nikon was just about dead on. SOMEONE took it 5000 clicks over, and I put about 2-300 on it myself in testing pre-gift. I was hoping for option B, obviously. |

Re: Photography Thread
Picked up another good, cheap lens this week. $25...Gonna give it to my sister.
Nikon Series E 70-210mm f/4. it is a constant aperture lens, cheap used, but cheap in it's day as well, in case you don't know the E-Series story. But it has great bokeh, decently super sharp for a hand held, MF lens. Even though this one has some visible dust inside, on a blue field it is not that bad. She won't see it 95% of the time she uses it. BUT YOU WILL..... All hand held at the long end....f/8, base ISO And sadly, one of the main reasons for the low price.....DUST...and not just dust.....BUNNIES. I was gonna take it apart, I got a Sigma 70-300 back together and it worked, but I don't think I got it PERFECT, as now it is a bit soft. So this one just has to have a bunny farm. Re: Photography Thread
I had another great opportunity tonight on my Greenway walk. i decided to take some more shots with the
70-210 Series E Nikon lens since soon it will be in someone else's hands and I like to thoroughly check something like that out Before I let it go. Maybe I want to keep it, eh? But no, in this case it is certainly going to be given away, but as you will see, I was sure glad I had it tonight. When you walk up on a bird and think "OH man, let me stop dead and see if I can get a shot off. nah, they always fly away. Well tonight I got a break. i walked up on a Mourning Dove and she didn't fly. What a BEAUTIFUL EYE! A nice maple tree leaf shot. Pink Flowers I imagine butterflys like this Clouds...and that damn lens dust. |

Odd moth that I spotted in the woods today. I looked it up online; it's called a Clymene Moth:
