Re: What's the last movie you watched?
District 9
I almost gave up on this one b/c the beginning didn't pull me in. Glad I stuck with it b/c it was a good film.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Cmon kel, how did you not see that coming. The one I failed to see coming was "Couples Retreat" what a barfarama.
I last saw "HELLRIDE". Not terrible. It tried too hard to BE Tarantino instead of just being PRODUCED by him. But I went in expecting nothing and got something. The Runaways......not terrible. Commando...........Hilarious in so many ways. Arnold lays a few claymores and 20 buildings blow up. And they were obviously made of cardboard. And he throws a grenade and two guys clearly flip off of two little springboards in the grass. No effort to conceal it. The Watchmen.....SUCH an interesting filmic conception. Not sure how I felt at the end, but I DID like it and it was worth my time. I thought it was great, but I do not know why I liked it. It was certainly nothing like any movies out in the last ten years. |

Finally saw Inglorious Basterds.
Was really let down. But then again the last QT film I actually sat through was Pulp Fiction, if you don't count his segment in Four Rooms.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I also liked Hot Tub Time Machine. Have watched it some 3-4 times now and still
enjoy it. Probably John Cusack's influence. Surprised to hear someone say District 9 'did not pull them in.' For me this movie excels at pulling the viewer in. The documentary feel is not new, but in this instance it works very well, as does the comedy angle with the engaging lead character. I like it alot. |
