I'm curious, what's your Top 5 (or Top 10 for that matter)?

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
I will do my best to give you my current tops (the guys I would start with if I was a GM building a team from scratch). I am sure my list won't look like anyone else's, Greg, JMHOs. 1. Marty Brodeur 2. Mikka Kiprusoff 3. Henrik Lundqvist 4. Steve Mason 5. Evgeni Nabokov 6. Roberto Luongo 7. Niklas Backstrom 8. Carey Price 9. Marc-Andre Fleury 10.Ray Emery and my up and comer, Craig Anderson. Be fun to see your list too.

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Here's my ten based on last year's performances. I think some spots would be rearranged if they don't break out of their "normal" early year slumps. 5/6/7 could easily be swapped with each other, I don't watch enough of those three to go into more detail.
1. Brodeur 2. Luongo 3. Lundqvist 4. Thomas 5. Backstrom 6. Nabokov 7. Kiprusoff 8. Fleury 9. Miller 10. Any of the following: Mason, Rinne, Ellis, LeClaire (if he avoids injuries) or Anderson. If you're team building (5+ years), I'd take Brodeur, Thomas and Kipper out and replace them with some of the younger guys who are showing great promise.

I forgot all about Thomas, good call Greg. I only strongly disagree with Mason not being Top 5 if based on last year's play...the kid basically won a playoff spot all by himself.

Hawks played a great 1st and a great 3rd, Christos. Two periods ain't enough against the Red Wings.
Congrats on the win, 5 more to go.

With a win over the Blues last night, the Thrashers start out 2-0 for the first time since 2003. Kovalchuk scored his 300th and 301st career NHL goals and Evander Kane got his first NHL goal last night. The Thrashers have won 14 of the last 20 going back to last season. Maybe they will finally make another run at the playoffs. Ten goals in two games is nice. I just hope they can keep it up.

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
So pissed Was watching Sharks game and it looked like they were mailing it in again. Down 1-0 and just no push. Decide I will go to the gym and lift. not even out of the neighboorhood its tied. Get to the gym is 2-1 and fights are breaking loose. Final score 6-3 Sharks. Heater got a Hatrick and the crowd was chanting his name. Jumbo/Thorton had a 4 point night almost had a 5. The Sharks are inconsistent right now. Jumbo in the post game basically said they are starting to gel as a team. He said they are going to score a lot of goals. Advice to Fantasy guys. PICK UP HEATER!!
As Al also experineced lastnight and everyone always says. You can never give up on games anymore and you never know whats going to happen. |

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Flames are 4-0
I figured it was all done last night Oil was up 3-2 in the dying seconds of the 3rd then with 1.5 on the clock and the extra attacker boom we score - Flames in the shoot out. Still a ton of hockey to play, but I like how Sutter coaches, these guys stuck with it and it worked. |

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Great game from the Sharks. Awesome seeing Heatley get the Hat Trick at his first home appearance. Seto had 2 also. Columbus pulled their goalie after 5 goals. Nabbi got some redemption, although he still let 3 get by.
I think Seto will have the hat trick soon. This is his second 2 goal game out of just 4 games. |

The bruins last night all over them selves, if thomas keeps playing like that Tuukka Rask had better get more chances in net.
All That money for a 35 yo goalie that has won squat Now don't get me wrong the rest of the team stunk up the joint as well. But the soft goals?????
