Cigars often burn for 1.5-2 hours....45 minutes is on the lesser end for sure. Depends how much you smoke though, people here will nub the heck out of a cigar down to the last quarter-half inch.

EDIT I personally leave about an inch left, unless I REALLY love the cigar.
