Virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel
I am not especially religious but regarless that's some darn fine art work in the Sistine chapel.
If you've never been there or have and would like to go back or maybe you missed church last Sunday this really is pretty cool. If you want the complete effect there's choir music in the backround too. http://www.vatican.va/various/cappelle/sistina_vr/

Re: Virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel
Been there and you are correct...a truly amazing place even if you aren't religious. We took the tour and got there 2 minutes before they locked the doors at noon ( that is when they closed but once you're in you can take your time and even though we were in there for several hours it wasn't long enough. I took some pics which are in my album on here but it just doesn't do it justice. If you are ever there it's a must see! )
Thx for the link. |

That's beautiful. And to think he signed letters and contracts "Michelangelo, the Sculptor" because he wanted to be known for sculpture not painting.
Here's a great write-up on how he felt: http://entertainment.howstuffworks.c...-paintings.htm
