A couple years ago, during a long cold/snow spell right before Xmas, I had a couple of boxes sit on a UPS truck (outside) for several days before they could be delivered. I could get to the depot, but they refused to remove anything from the truck and my "hill" was "not passable" (well, except for USPS, FedEx and everyone else).
On the plus side, I never even considered freezing them.
