Illusione 88 Cigar Review
This 5×52 robusto sized stick offered a very oily, smooth firm wrapper with a nice sweet floral aroma. Burn was very good all the way down, holding the ash to each third. Draw was slightly on the loose side with perfect resistance. The first third brought flavors of slightly sweet leather, a touch of cocoa and coffee with a mildly spicy finish that built up heat as it went along. The 2nd third transitioned to a nice dry coffee, still with a nice oil on the mouth and a touch of earthiness. The last third smoothed out just a bit and dropped the spice, adding a longer finish of oily coffee. Total burn time just past the band was 1:10. Overall a medium-full body with very rich flavors. Thank you to Shuckins for trading with me for this stick!

Nice Review. I love the Illusiones too, however I lean toward liking the smaller ring guages on these. Give the Epernay a try if you hav'nt yet. You will be suprised

Re: Illusione 88 Cigar Review
Just finished smoking a 68 on the way home from the beach. Excellent cigar! What's the difference between the 68 and 88? Different size only or different blend too?

Re: Illusione 88 Cigar Review
The Illusiones I've had were all very harsh at the beginning. The flavor was good and had lots of potential, but I refuse to smoke anymore premium cigars that burn my nose.
I'm drawing a line in the sand! seriously though, I've had the epernay and the 88 and they were both really tasty, don't get me wrong. very well constructed, and it's obvious they're made with quality tobacco. definitely worth a try, especially if you're a fan of Tats and DPGs. The taste and strength are very similar. |

Re: Illusione 88 Cigar Review
Just had one of these the other day. It was a good, solid smoke. It had some nice flavos, coffee, pepper, leather. It wasn't very complex and didn't really "wow" me. I enjoyed it, but... I don't know that I it is worth the price to me.
The HL was much better, in my opinion. More complexity.
