Best way to sell?
Looking for some feedback on the best way to list/group cigars to sell.
Our second little one is on the way (Mid-Late) November and money is always nice to have when a new baby arrives. ALSO, since it's already getting too cold out here (Ohio) to sneek out and smoke, I thought some other folks might get to enjoy these cigars before I can. Should I group them by brand, wrapper, length, both?? Fivers, 10s, 15s, one big package?? I'm kinda single heavy, so I don't know how many of the 'same' fivers I could offer, but perhaps I could round up a few. Any input would be appreciated. I guess the question is...what would you prefer to snag on sale? Thanks in advance! M |

Re: Best way to sell?
5'ers seem to go quickly.....and lower than retail pricing makes for an easy sale.

yup, most don't care for the samplers, at least IMO they don't, unless its a brand/line style sampler.

Re: Best way to sell?
A trend was pointed out to me by another member and I have noticed it to be true...
Large samplers go much quicker than smaller packages. I noticed it with my sale. I had 5-6 samplers that were for sale for about 3 days with no bites. I bumped it and gave the option to take all of it for about $30 less than what it would cost to buy all the samplers individually and it sold inside a day. Just my |

Re: Best way to sell?
Man, what a thoughtful and thought provoking post. Thank you!
Something that I've seen on other boards may work for you, so I'll toss it out. Group all the sticks into lots of approximate value. Make a different WTS post for each. List them at one price "per stick" but make 5-ers a little bit less (e.g., small discount for buying in bulk). Be sure to mention who pays for shipping and figure that into the price. This way, people can find lots of singles of approximate equal value and mix and match as appropriate. Any that don't move from the different threads can be rebundled later into 5-ers or what-have-you lots. The goal, of course, is to sell them in 5-ers or better sized lots. Let's say that you have a whole group that works out to, maybe, $20 for a 5-er, you can have a thread title like "Pick and choose $20 5-er sale" (or perhaps something better, since I'm no good at thread titles). I see these here every once in a while. I don't spend much time on the sales anymore (too busy buying boxes ), but I'm sure that others can jump in with their experience as to whether or not this is a successful strategy. Just seems like a cool strategy to me, so I thought I would mention it.

Re: Best way to sell?
^^^ LOL, saw those! I believe a similar method is used when Thompson and JR sell samplers... you get about 5 nice cigars, 4 dog rockets, and 1-2 gems and you think you are getting a deal because you see the gems in the package.
