Default Re: Beverage accompaniements with your tobacco pro

  • Cuban coffee (I really need to learn how to make this at home)
  • Scotch - The Macallan 18, Laphroaig, The Dalmore...
  • Bourbon/Whiskey - Woodford Reserve, Blanton's, Stranahan's, Single Barrel Jack Daniels...
  • Rum/Rhum - Ron Zacapa 23, Pyrat XO, Seven Fathoms, Barbancourt...
  • Water
The liquors are all drunk with a few drops of water, no ice. I also drink them very sparingly, just enough with each sip to coat my tongue. Sometimes two ounces will last longer than a cigar.

When I choose a pairing, I almost do it subconsciously. I don't think "the floral notes in this beverage will complement the cedar undertones in this cigar" or anything so lofty. It's more like I choose the drink and the cigar independently based on individual merit, or simply based on what I feel like drinking/smoking at that time.
