i keep a word document with every cigar, the date i got them, their age (if available), and who gave them to me for what occasion (bomb, buy, trade, etc) and constantly update it. seems to work out well

Not only do I track age & source (trade, bomb, purchase,) but also wrapper/blend, country of origin, vitola, and I have a separate worksheet to log my own reviews, and another worksheet with addresses. Now that's uber-geek dorkiness, right there, my friend. Glad I married a smokin' hot wife before she figured that out.
