never if i can help it. i have had to do it a few time on some cigars. Such as the other night i had a PdP from the sale that was just not wanting to play ball. I tryed to work with it before i gave up on it. I had to trash it

Never plan on it unless it gets sour or some tar build up.

Purging is blowing the stale smoke out through the cigar rather then drawing it in. Sometimes it can fix a bitter cigar.

As for me, I only do it if I have a bitter cigar, which hopefully is never. But it happens sometimes.

Same here and if the build up gets bad enough, I just clip it again.
