Chickenfoot - Hagar and Satriani
Instant Classic.
The best love song I've heard in a long time. That's also Chad Scott from the Chili Peppers on drums. Enjoy.

I like all 4 of these guys...but I gotta admit I was hoping for more, Scott.

I still think Chad Smith is actually Wil Farrell. It is like Superman & Clark Kent.

Where was the great guitar solo?

A little more Joe in that one. It'll make you feel a lot better. The rest of the album is a lot less teenage girlsy than "Oh Yeah". I liked it though, mainly because of the lyrics. Avenida Revolution is a bit more Satriani saturated, too. I'm just relieved to get some new stuff I can listen to. I've been listening to Big Head Todd and the Monsters so much that I wanna go plant flowers.

Re: Chickenfoot - Hagar and Satriani
I was intrigued by this lineup when I first heard about it, but I've been unimpressed with everything I've heard. I'm not a big Hagar fan, and his brand of cheese is strong on this album.
Satriani is a great player, but too clinical for my tastes. It's got no soul.

This is what a Super-group should be..... Great musicians with great attitudes.... Try this one .... More of a classic satch sound...

Here's a bit of Jimmy Page before he found smack. After about 20 years of heroin, he just got better and better. I watched him do a solo while he played with Paul Rogers once. It was at the Civic Arena in Burgh. He was about as big as a toothpick, hitting it so hard that snot flew out of his nose and put his cigarette out. Never missed a note. He just got better. He's got more range and more style and more mood than anyone I can think of. He made the guitar do things that just can't be duplicated. I love Stevie Ray, Clapton, Beck, Satriani, Jimi, but none of them can touch Jimmy.

Here's a Midnight Moonlight vid. The sound is awful, and it's a poor example. It's still awesome.

Re: Chickenfoot - Hagar and Satriani
I have to agree this has Sammy stamped all over it. I like Sammy and I will get this Album but it doesn't light my soul on fire by any stretch.
Satriani is one of my all time favorites, I disagree that his music has now soul that it is all technical but to each there own. I hate to say it, but this is just VanHager. Last edited by SilverFox; 10-01-2009 at 09:20 AM. |

Re: Chickenfoot - Hagar and Satriani
Chad is really talented drummer and Satriani is wicked on guitar....so maybe I had greater expectations before listening to it? It wasn't bad, but left me wanting as well

And who's that playing bass guitar? The original bassist from VH ....Michael Anthony.
And the brotherhood connection continues to grow as I discover Shilala is an ORIGINAL VH fan Quote:
