Somebody on the old site had a great story about this. If I remember it right, he was in South America visiting his wife's family and bought a box of cigars for everyone. He went through his usual lighting routine of cutting, toasting the foot and so on. One of his wife's relatives shook his head, said "Why do you Americans make everything so complicated?", took a cigar, bit the end off, and lit it straightaway with his Zippo.

Personally I prefer a torch lighter (though I've even used paper matches in a pinch).
