well... my Microsoft Trackball Explorer died, due to some broken plastic internally. All buttons, etc are still here, but pieces are broken.
Now, I have found out that these things are discontinued, so I can't even go pick up a new one. So, anyone out there know of a 'peripheral graveyard' that may have some broken specimens around? I figure I can bring mine back to life, but there aren't any parts available on ebay either. This is the 'gray' one, with 4 buttons, and a scroll wheel, and of course the red / black 'dotted' trackball. Any help GREATLY appreciated! Can't stand a standard mouse anymore... |

that is the one - the only part I need though is the piece on the bottom left - it serves as the left side button assembly (see picture 3) - these 2 buttons on the left side are one piece of plastic.
Hoping to find someone that knows a source of a busted one so I can just get the parts to make it run again. Hell, it was only $40 new, and they closed them out at $25... oh well. Should have bought a spare... |

I have a several of the old track balls laying around - use to love those things. Not sure if I have that model - but I will look later today when I get home. You are welcome to whatever I have if you can use it.

I used to have one and it drove me nuts. My youngest daughter used it for lots of years. She's sleeping or I'd ask her what became of it. She'll probably just say "Huh?"

if even one of you guys can locate one that would be HUGE. It would be great to have some spare parts lying around in the future too.
Thanks! Look forward to hearing from you. |

I did a few searches and could really find anything that wasn't outrageously priced.
If you don't find anything, this is the closest trackball I could find that somewhat resembles the Trackball Explorer. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104125 |

This used to be my favorite mouse, too. I loved it. When my last one died, I found I couldn't get a replacement. I didn't like the Logitech one, I couldn't find one that fit my thumb the same way. It seems like the left button finally gave up the ghost on that unit.
Let me see what I've got in some of my boxes. I might not have thrown it away... If you like, you can email me at bama.tim@gmail.com .
