I upgraded my firmware to 4.5.0 and it still wont let me download it. Any insight would be helpful. BB desktop is at 5.1

First and foremost, you have to have Blackberry System 5. If you aren't on system five already, use blackberry desktop to upgrade. Then, in blackberry messenger select the option under groups to scan a group barcode. Scan in the barcode with your camera and it will send the request.

The 8330 version 5.0 IS out there but it is in beta testing and CAN cause some problems. 5.0 for Curves will be out in a little while and I will be waiting for the official version to come out.

I have some updates for you peoples who aren't yet on 5.0.

1. 5.0 is the version of blackberry messenger NOT the device firmware

2. You can upgrade to Bb messenger 5.0 from the BBapp world.

3. If you decide to install the 5.0 device firmware I have not yet run into any problems.
