Popping in here, I am getting ready to get my first tattoo in the next couple weeks. I've been working with a local artist on a design. I've seen his work in person and his portfolio and it is impressive. I'm going to read through this thread and hopefully get some courage. I'm a little nervous but I guess that is a good thing.

I want a second tattoo, but I'll the way I am losing weight at the moment, the time isn't just right. Guess I'll have to wait another year.

Hey, did you guys hear the story about the bozo who got popped for drug dealing down in North Carolina? He was easily recognized due to the Tar Heel blue NC tattooed on his cheek.

Lesson learned: Watch your step, if you're a suspect with a "distinguising mark".

Still need to go back for color and maybe take a pic that wasn't as soon as he pulled the gun off it. Start to my leg sleeve, now I'm more anxious than ever!

I only have one. I got it in Augusta, GA when I was at Fort Gordon in USAMPS when I was 18 and I'm 55 now. I was sober when I got it. I plan to get another one when I hit my 1 year of sobriety 3/15/11, perhaps incorporated with the current one. I'd like to have the current one re-inked or modified at the same time. I'll be sober if or when I do that.

Some of the work in these pictures is great. Thanks for sharing.
