I checked up. He quit fighting in the 80's to fight with the Contras in Nicaragua. I thought I remembered that.
He was currently the Mayor of Managua, Nicaragua and died from a bullet through the chest. I'm no forensics expert, but I'm gonna go ahead and stick my neck out there and say "suicide my ass."
