This is a photo from Chris Cornell's final performance at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The rocker was staying at MGM Grand in Detroit, sources confirm, where he died. Cornell gained fame as the lead singer of Soundgarden and later Audioslave. Re: RIP Chris Cornell
This one hits home hard. My favorite singer of my favorite era of music. He had the most unusual, powerful voice I have ever heard. It was truly beautiful. Going to be blasting Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave today. Eddie Vedder better go into hiding. The last pillar of grunge left standing......

Re: RIP Chris Cornell
Damn. He had one of the all-time great rock voices. 52 is too young.

Re: RIP Chris Cornell
Stayed off the boards since I heard this.
Saw him 7 times....twice each with Soundgarden, Audioslave and solo acoustic. Once solo electric. Easily my favorite rock singer of all time. This ****ing sucks.

I'm right there with you Tom. Just last month I was arguing at work that he was the best front man there ever was. A week later, and it still seems unreal.

Re: RIP Chris Cornell
I've liked Soundgarden since the day I picked up Superunknown in the 90's. Chris Cornell was loved and respected by a lot of his fellow musicians, it seems. For those interested there are a number of tribute performances dedicated to him which you can find online. Here are some of what I feel are the best.
