I even saw this on local NY news last night. Though I totally agree with the disturbing foolishness of this self-absorbed tech obsession, I do think the announcers went too far in shaming them so much, and so widely . . . plus the fact they had the time between pitches to do this sort of forgives these girls their own lack of interest in the "action".

This stupidity has become so prevalent that most people are aghast when you start a conversation with them in public. That's around here, I should add. Folks just don't know what to do when a human speaks to them.
Once I get out of the city, headed over and into PA, people actually enjoy conversing and you can make friends most anywhere.

Those are college girls. Our future. The best and brightest.
Thank God I'll be dead soon.

The only consolation I have is I will be dead soon as well, I actually say it all the time, I'm one up on you though, I don't have any kids that are going to get stuck with this mess.

Ads, my kids are:
A.) Smart.
B.) Trained to kill.
C.) Have damned good coping mechanisms.

SO far out in front of me at their ages.
I suppose I had to learn it all the hard way so I could teach it to them the right way, but it's been way more than worth my while. Probably the only useful and decent thing I've ever done.

The kids are the only thing that make going through all this worthwhile, for me, anyways. YMMV.
