Going to the range to zero my scope. It's a Nikon Monarc3 on a savage 300wm. It's my first scope,do any of you guys have any tips?

I typically start at 50 yards....

If it's a bolt gun... take bolt out, look through back down through bore and put bore hole on bullseye, move crosshairs to bullseye. That should get you pretty good as a starting point. (obviously not moving the rifle by using a vise, or bipod and bags)

Use a rest or bipod.... Shoot and adjust until you can get it on paper. Once on paper, put crosshairs on bullseye and then adjust crosshairs to bullet hole. That will get you pretty close.
