It might have changed and the page wasn't updated, try the appropriate email for your country from the following page:

Best wishes on identifying the lighter. From the looks of it, you may want to have it cleaned up by DuPont, so I'd send it in to the service center for your country, have it cleaned and checked out. Even if it isn't a real DuPont, it looks old and may have sentimental value to you and your family, which argues for getting it leaned up and working properly.

Don't have any sentimental value to me Markem. I got it from someone else and the story I got with it is his grandpa brought it back from over seas in the 70's. Don't know if its true or not just what I was told.

Ah, I see. My best advice, then, is this:

1. If you want to sell it, no one will pay DuPont prices without a certification from DuPont. Getting it cleaned and inspected from DuPont is the way to go. They should give you a letter of verification corresponding to the serial number.

2. If it works well, then you can put it up for sale on a few cigar sites and see what you can get - are there sites for auctioning DuPont lighters? A possible fake of an old DuPont that may or may not last isn't worth a huge amount, I'd say maybe $50 if someone just wanted it as a display piece. $30 may be more reasonable, given that it is pretty beat up.

It would be cool if it was real. I know several people who have small collections, but they only buy directly from DuPont.

Not sure if there's any auction sites for DuPont lighters. Will probably put it on ebay if it is real.

I emailed the authorized dealer from the S.T. Duponts website. They finally emailed me back telling me its a Line 1 small gold plated BR manufactured April 1987. Does any one know what it would be worth. Thanks.

Is this your ebay listing?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Gold...item2a4a6a7af8

If not, I will point out that the lighter looks in very good condition. Watch the price on this one as it will likely go for about what people would pay for yours as well.

Is it still for sale?

I've sold a few Dupont lighters, even on this forum. Problem with used Dupont's are they always leak and inevitably need servicing. This is both good and bad as one you will have a "new" lighter, can install cigar tip, and you'll know for sure if it is real or not. Best way to ensure an authentic Dupont is buying older ones like you have.

I believe your lighter is real, but whomever buys it will need to drop a few buck on it in the short run.
