Curious how well v-cutters work. Do they tend to not disturb the cap and leave it intact? Have Kikar X-8 guillotine and punch cutters and pretty much prefer the punch for that reason.

I only use a V-cutter unless I'm smoking a small cigar. The V-cutter seems to open up the draw of a cigar better in my opinion. I've had a few cutting blunders but that comes with being new in the game and cutting to slow which tends to splinter the edges of the cut.

I use all 3 styles and even a pocket knife on occasion. it all depends on the wrapper flavor for me and the shape. If its a torpedo (my preferred shape) guillotine, the punch is saved for a few sticks I know I really like the flavor of the wrapper while smoking. The V I use when the mood strikes however bear in mind everyone has their favorite and YMMV.
