Great TT today and just shows even in a TT luck has a lot to do with it. Bardet lost his 5th place due to a puncture which required a bike change. Too bad for him but even though some favorites went out early I enjoyed watching this tour more then any I can remember recently. Hoping they let Jens Voigt lead them out onto the champs élysées tomorrow he's definitely earned it!

The tour was great this year, too bad Nibali couldn't race against Froome and Contador, but I think he is a worthy champion. He rode stage finishes to the end, finishing first and out distancing his competitors without other riders from his team. He finished 4th in the TT over a tough course putting more time between him and the other top finishers when he could have taken less risks knowing he already had the win nailed down. Next year should be interesting as there is a lot of young talent out there for the teams to support as contenders for all the jerseys. My wife will be happy as I will stop blipping between the Tour and baseball. |
