BOTL's name your pipes
OK... What's your current favorite pipe maker and favorite model?
Personally, I like Peterson and Neerup pipes. Have 12 or 13 Petes, almost all with the P-lip stems. Vastly prefer that style over the fishtail. My favorite is a Peterson 305 rusticated system pipe. Also like a Pete 4s Deluxe rusticated. RR |

I have lots of Stanwells, can't go wrong there, but the two that come to mind as superior are my Radices and my Sasquatch. Radice are ubiquitous, Sasquatch is Todd Bannard, a talented and reasonably priced Canadian carver. I believe his website is "Briar, Sweat, and Tears.

Love this old Stanwell 91R saucer pipe. Really enjoy Navy Flake in it.

Picking a favorite is like picking a favorite child!
My favorite tends to be the one I am smoking at the time. The ones I don't smoke anymore have been purged and all that remains are great smokers (save for one or two sentimental pipes). |

Favorite makers: Lee von Erck, Castello, Radice, Don Carlos, Ascorti/Caminetto
Favorite model? Not just one, but I prefer straights. I'd like to get another Castello 33, but...

Re: BOTL's name your pipes
I currently have two pipes.
Kaywoodie Billiard (estate pipe - 1960's) Dr. Grabow Omega (estate pipe - 1990's) Lucky for me both are good smokers, but I prefer the Kaywoodie |

Re: BOTL's name your pipes
BS&T (Todd Bannard) has made me a beauty of a puffer; he is a great entry into the world of quality carvers. But, still, I'll pick Missouri Meerschaum. My faves are the General and the Country Gentleman. Magnificent pipes for less than $10/ea.

Missouri Pride from Missouri Meerschaum. It holds two escudo slices. I'll probably buy a couple diplomats this suimmer for longer smokes. I keep looking at briars because they are so beautiful but I can't convince myself they smoke any better so I save my money for more tobacco and cigars.
