That said, it's always fun to see the American players play in international rinks. Most guys grow up playing in fat NHL-sized rinks and radius their blades into the pros at around 1.5", versus Canadian and Europeans at 1.75" and 2.00". Sweden looks good with excellent long-stride wingers and quick puck-moving defense. Canada has so much depth, it will most likely utilize umbrella to leverage its incredible offensive firepower. Russia will be interesting to watch as international rinks are more about playmaking and endurance, rather than pure physicality. |
