The only thing I can think of is a chinese Kershaw in that price range. I personally stay away from assited opening knives and flippers in most cases, personal prefference however with a cheap assisted you have a high risk of the assist failing eventually. And it also limits your options
![]() The real questions is what do you intend to do with the knife. Open mail, open boxes, widdle, self defense, prybar, etc...? Do you need it to be light weight, small, large, etc...? If you are going to go chinese, you might as well go Spyderco. But prolly not much there in the way of assisted. Spyderco makes the best chinese blades, not good steel obviously but fit and finish is good. The kershaw skyline is an excellent american steel, light weight and slim that fits into a pocket. Not assisted though. One of the all time classic EDC knives that fits your budget. Not a tactical design though, better for letter opening as the blade is slim and it only has a single liner. I have a partial-serrated assisted chinese kershaw. I did some not great filing of the scales to make it more comfortable in the hand. If you want it, it's yours and $50 under budget.
