Proper storage for pipe tobacco
What is the proper way to store my tobacco?
I assume unopened tins are safe on the shelf or in a drawer pretty much indefinitely. But what about opened tins, do the degrade quickly? do I need to smoke them within a short period of time? or are there storage concerns to make them last? what about storage of bulk tobacco? |

Re: Proper storage for pipe tobacco
your best bet is mason jars for every thing not sealed in a tin. I prefer the wide mouth lids, and imho there is no need for any humi-packs. Your correct to a point, most un-opened tins will keep indefinitely but there are some that have been known to rust from the inside, usually under the paper, but that is with some significant age, one of the old farts might be able to elaborate a little more on that.If you want some rock solid advice, you should post your Q's over in Moo's " ask an old fart" thread. They have been at it alot longer than I.
