Where to Buy New Glarus?
I live in Oregon and would like to try some of the New Glarus brews. I searched the companies website and I cannot find any distributors in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho. I also contacted a local microbrew retailer- Belmont Station, and they told me they do not carry it.
Any idea of a place I can order from? |

Another option would be to do some trades on beeradvocate and/or ratebeer. If you haven't traded there before you might have to send your end first, but you should have no trouble trading some Oregon stuff for some NG stuff.

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
Thanks for the info.
I never traded before on those sites. Anyone on CA that wants some Oregon beers for New Glarus brews? I make trips to Portland at least once a month it seems, and I could stop by Belmont Station and pick-up whatever you would like. This is the current list: Belmont Station Beer List |

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
Bump: I am headed to Portland for a conference from April 22-27 and I could pick-up anything listed on the Beer list above, or stop by any brewers if someone wants me to pick something up special.
Really want to try some New Glarus so I am willing to drive around for a pick-up list for a BOTL on these boards. If any BOTL is interested, or knows someone that may be interested, please let me know! |

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
My are to try the Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart at minimum, even if you're not a fruit beer guy ( a lot of people just have bad ones and then right them all off ). These two beers are pretty unique, and excellent IMO, the fruit flavors you get from them are amazing, just not like many (if any) beers out there.
You Blushing Monk fans have a great beer there, but it does not capture the essence of a raspberry the way Raspberry Tart does. And the vast majority of New Glarus beers are excellent as well. One more time! Any decent liquor store with a decent craft beer selection will carry them, WI'ers love their NG.

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
I was looking through the NG website, and I have to say, these look really interesting:
Raspberry Tart Wisconsin Belgian Red Dancing Man Wheat Cherry Stout Solstice Laughing Fox Wisconsin Cran-bic Apple Ale Iced Barley Wine For the the fruit aspect of the beers, that is what I am drawn to. I have tried a Raspberry Beer from McMenamins (Oregon and Washington specific place) called "Ruby Ale" and really enjoyed it. While looking into more fruit beers like that I came across reviews for New Glarus. |

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
Wanted to bump this up again. I have a great BOTL who was able to send me some, and I just fell in love with the Raspberry Tart and Wisconsin Belgian Red.
If anyone has access to these, I would love to talk with you! PM me please! |

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
I sent him a pm. I live in Madison and have easy access to New Glarus beers. The Raspberry Tart & Wisconsin Belgian Red are consistently their highest rated and of type are very good. My personal favorite is the snowshoe ale but that is mostly nostalgic. The spotted cow is like printing money. I talked with the brew master a couple of years ago and they had to take a number of beers out of rotation for awhile until they expanded so they could just keep cranking out the spotted cow. It's a fine wheat beer but I haven't had one in years partly because it is too popular and it is too sweet for me. Some of the others he lists I have never seen and may have been or be seasonal limited release beers.

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
According to the New Glarus website Spotted Cow is a farmhouse ale. From drinking it it tastes a lot like a wheat beer. I had some tonight on draft, still to sweet for me. Since I was not buying it was great. Generally a really good pick for a mixed crowd of people. As a microbrew it is very accessible to non beer people while still acceptable to beer people.

We also don't allow alcohol purchases and trades on the Public Forum, so next time please just do anything of this nature via PM only.

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
Thought I would bump this up to the top again.
I really want to buy some of the New Glarus Wisconsin Red beer, but it is only sold in Wisconsin I believe. I would be willing to pay extra to have some shipped to me (cost, shipping, plus extra and cigars!). PM me if you are able to help! |

Re: Where to Buy New Glarus?
I am heading up to Wisconsin next weekend, I will look for it at my usual stop. They usually have a few New Glarus beers, not sure about the Red.
