Default El Rey Del Mundo - Rectangulare

Here's a cigar that I've been smoking almost since day one of my smoking experience. What I like about this cigar is that, for me, taste completely different than my other smokes. They come wrapped in rice paper like the Cuban Fonseca but that's where the similarities end. CI has them advertised as spicy cigars which I don't agree with.

The cigar:

El Rey Del Mundo - Rectangulare

Size: 5.6 X 45
Wrapper: Sumatra
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras/Nicaragua/Dominican Republic
Price: $87 for box of 20

Pre-Light:
This is a box pressed cigar (I wish it wasn't). Upon removing the wrapper, the touch is firm and an attractive cigar with almost no veins. Very well made cigar. The foot has a cedar smell. After clipping the cigar, it does have a very slight pepper after taste.

First Third:
Blah this cigar has a draw problem so I'm getting little smoke out of it. From the smoke I am getting, I taste a pronounced cedar. I wish this cigar would give me more smoke to fill my mouth as the flavors I do taste, taste wonderful. As I said, very different "taste profile" than my other smokes. The burn is clean and straight.

Second Third:
The draw is getting a little better but not much. Along with the cedar profile, I'm getting an aftertaste of a faint sweetness. Shame that I can't get more smoke. Of the smoke I do get, it is fairly smooth.

Last Third:
The beginning of the last third is still the same as the before. Near the end of the last third I get a blend of cedar and leather profile with that distinctive sweetness in the aftertaste. The smoke is getting thicker which I welcome but a little late for that.

Conclusion:
What a shame that this had some draw problems as the taste and aroma were pretty darn good. A good chance of pace from what I've been smoking lately.

I've got a box of the Rectangulare Maduro's stashed in the bottom of the cabinet. I need to fish them out. I love this things too as a nice change of pace.

Do you have a draw tool? One of those would've helped open that puppy up.

Surprising. Well, it is a handmade product, so you're bound to have the occasional tight draw.

I know what I'll be smoking tonight though. Thanks for the reminder.

I have gone through a couple boxes of these several years back and rarely had an issue. They smoked well for me. I have had bad burns or plugs on twenty dollar sticks before. Thanks for the review.
