Default Aromas when roasting

I was roasting this morning, Colombia Tolima Einar Ortiz Microlot, and I noticed a hint of lemon aroma, in the 1st 2 mins of roasting. When the coffee is actually drying, not cooking. Lemon blosson was one of the flavors in SM's description of the coffee.
I have had similar experience with Klatche's Colombia Gutierrez Micro-lot, but with maple aroma and maple flavor in the coffee.
Anybody else notice this phenomina? I use the Fresh roast, maybe it is only happen in air roasting?
Anyways, pretty cool
Ah, the joys of home roasting

Funny, I thought this was kind of an intriguing topic. The 1st time it happened, I was blown away. This last time, I was not as surprised. I guess, maybe, it doesn't happen that often and only in certain circumstances. And maybe none of the rest of you have experienced it. It is WAY cool, when it does

Are talking about the aroma while roasting or while brewing?
I only typically smell burnt popcorn while roasting.

Sorry no, I've only ever smelled the grassy/hay aromas in the first few minutes before it starts smoking.

During roasting, in the first couple mins, right before it starts to "smoke"
Maple, lemon, who'da thought
You know, it might have something to do with the cool, thin, mountain air. We are at 6,400 feet above sea level

I think the Nesco prevents any real aroma from escaping in the begining of the roast. I don't really pick-up any aroma at first.
