Default CI COMC Customer Service Appreciation

I signed up for CI's Cigar Of The Month Club and I just received this email:

Happy 2012 and thank you for choosing Cigars International for your cigar purchases!

Earlier this week we shipped your Cigar of the Month Club cigars. If you haven’t received them yet, you should see them within the next day or two. When you read this month’s Tobacco Leaf, you’ll see that we wanted to include two bonus Blend Lab cigars. However, shortly after the orders left our warehouse, we discovered that the bonus cigars we wanted you to try were still in the warehouse, NOT in your shipment.

I’m not sure how it happened. Did the guys in the warehouse think we were kidding when we said to include extra cigars? Did the guy who compiles the sampler each month start drinking decaf? Or for you conspiracy theorists, did the guys from Area 51 somehow teleport the cigars out of the warehouse when the COMC was being built, only to teleport them back on Wednesday? (yeah, we don’t believe that one either, but it’s a thought!)

Whatever the cause, we discussed at great length how to make this right for you. We ruled out personal deliveries by the guys in the warehouse (they’d have too much fun!). Likewise, when sending the cigars alone, there is a much greater possibility of damage, increasing your frustration. We also dismissed teleporting them since, well, there is no such thing!

We thought the best way to get you those extra cigars was to include them with your next shipment. So look for your bonus Blend Lab cigars with your February sampling. From all of us at CI, I certainly apologize for this inconvenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 888-244-2790, option 2 for Customer Service.

Thank you!

Trish Densmore

Customer Service

According to the tracking # January sticks should be in my mailbox waiting for me wheni get home today.

So, anyway just wanted to give some love to CI for a min and share with all of you.

Seems like Gurkhas are an ongoing joke here. Is this true? are they just bad cigars in general?

I haven't had one that was worth purchasing yet. Not all are bad but none I have had are good either. I believe Mac has located the extremely rare Gurkha that tastes good, might just be a rumor. They also have a bad reputation with over pricing their MSRP making a normal price of a cigar look like a sale. That being said, they do an amazing job with their packaging. I am still gonna try the cellar reserve (I think that's the name) to see if there is any hope for me and this brand. These are only my opinions, don't take my word for it, try them and make up your mind.

The problem I have with Gurkha's is that they oversaturate the market with a new cigar every 3 days it seems. And most of them aren't worth it. Yes they have great packaging, but I can't smoke a pretty box or some neato special ops knife. C'mon man!

I fell for the spec ops packaging...free knife, travel humidor, etc... Cigars are great...for giving to my brothers in law. I do, however, love the 30 ct. travel humidor they came in. Use it almost everyday but no Gurkha's in there.

I don't mind Gurkha's I have had a couple that I liked, but the one I couldn't stand was the European Selection, that one bored me to tears, no flavor, nothing....like smoking an E-cigarette.

Matt I did too, I love my yellow travel humi! I look at it this way the case is worth $49 the cool blade is worth probably $69-89 so it got the sticks almost 4 free and got 10 pack sampler! Oh ya don't forget the gold dabloom!

The real point is, they advertised that they were including the extras and then did not. The preemptive apology and statement that they recognized the possible issue and will make it right is a sign of good customer service.
