FSS Honduran Private Selection
So I bought a bundle of these on a whim from FSS for $25 as I know a lot of the folks around here enjoy the Famous Nic's. For just over $1 a stick, I figured I couldn't go wrong, and it appears I was right!
Not sure if linking them is taboo or not, but here is what I'm talking about (and as I think they're a FSS only brand, I don't see the harm in linking it - please let me know if that's not the case) http://www.famous-smoke.com/honduran...ars/item+35864 Here's what they look like shortly after lighting (the garage is a necessity when it's >20F out and you don't smoke in the house ). I thought it was a nice looking smoke, and the size was about perfect for me, despite usually gravitating toward the 50-54 ring gauge. This was my 2nd smoke of the night, and about a pint of porter in, so that may have had some influence I got some carmel-sweet notes off it, I'd call it a medium smoke (a bit on the lighter side). Ash was pretty dark and flaky, had a tough time keeping more than 1/2" on there, but I was not being very gentle with it. Had some issues with it keeping lit at first, but I think it was probably due to me babying it (and being distracted on the forums). Overall, it's a nice smoke to grab if you don't have time to sit down and enjoy a $10 stick. I'd be happy with it if I paid twice the price for the bundle, so at $25 I think it's a smokin () deal. Price aside, I enjoyed the smoke, and will enjoy revisiting the rest of the bundle! |
