I need some guidance
Heres the story. My wife does share a cigar with me every now and then. I was talking her last night on the phone and she expressed that she would like to try some flavored/infused cigars. She specifically mentioned the coffee flavored ones. I do not smoke flavored or infused cigars so I do not have a clue where to start. Any recomendation for coffee flavored sticks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: I need some guidance
Drew Estates is about the best infused manufacturer out there.
They have the Tabak and I am not sure what else would be coffee. Try the Opulence 3, not coffee but the best infused stick by a mile that I have tried!

Re: I need some guidance
The Java by Rocky Patel. My advice would be to take her to the B&M and let her pick a few and try them to see what she likes. Just pray that she doesn't follow my wife's footsteps and go from liking flavored smokes to loving well aged Cubans, it may sound awesome but you stash goes rather quickly

Re: I need some guidance
2nd the Tabak. I'd smoke them if the tip wasn't so sweet.
Java Khalua - if you can still find them You didn't mention if she smokes non-infused cigars already. My girlfriend smokes wide range of premium cigars, but still enjoys infused now and then. Won't touch acids, but likes: CI Legend Copper - Drew Estates Ambrosia, esp Vann Reef and Nectar In the Tabak, she particularly likes the 'Red-Eye' CAO Eileen's Dream and Moontrance |

Re: I need some guidance
Drew Estates makes several coffee infused cigars. The Tabak Especial comes in both Maduro(Negra) and Natural(Dulce) wrappers. I occasionally enjoy the Negra but do not like the natural wrapper. Both have sweetened tips. Check your local shop.
DE also makes the Java, a much stronger coffee infused cigar. I prefer the balance of the Tabak. There are several other coffee flavored cigars like the Tatiana. But flavored cigars differ from infused in that the flavors seem much more artificial. Acid also has a nice sampler in a tin that runs about $45. |

Re: I need some guidance
I've never understood the point of a coffee infused or flavored cigar, as coffee is a flavor so easy to find in so many non-infused/flavored cigars. Also, it's very easy to drink a cup of coffee with your cigar and get the same effect.
Something like strawberry makes some amount of sense to me, because you're never going to find it in an unflavored product.

A few have said it...for coffee flavors, the Java is the one.

Personally, I don't care for intentionally-limited releases as a marketing function, but if a tasty stick shows up in a "Limited" program, I can grok the pursuit of it. You won't catch me participating, though.

Re: I need some guidance
Thanks everyone for the advice. She currently only smokes about 3-4 cigars a month (CAO Flavors) but she usually takes a few puffs off whatever I light up. That Tabac Especial sounds like it will be right up her alley. As for the Cubans, she really likes my BBF's.

Most coffee cigars I've tried also have a heavy chocolate, too. Same thing here. It's not a chocolate note like in many regular cigars, it's like eating Hershey Kisses. That make more sense, Doc?
