Has anyone tried storing cigars in a Koolatron? I did a search on CA threads and nothing came up. I know it's more expensive than a regular cooler, but I don't have a basement where the temperature would be cool enough. I think the garage and attic would get too hot in the summer.

Do a search for thermoelectric wine coolers. You'll come up with Vinotemp and Edgestar to name a few. IMO that is the route to take if you want climate control. Also much more accessible to your smokes than the Koolatron it seems.

My dad has one of these and it tends to freeze things and develop frost on the inside, no good for cigars.

Wine Cooler! I went with a NewAir 28 bottle ... not much more than your Koolatron idea but way nicer looking and so many more options.
If you need to temperature control your smokes then a wine is cooler is 100% the only way to go brother. http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=50189 |
