What decade would you live in?
If you could travel back in time, where would you go? I think I would prefer the 70s, with the 50s in a close second. I have no actual experience of the 50s other than what I see on TV, hear from older generations, and such. Seems like it was a really good decade to me. Of course, I was born in the 70s, so it doesn't get much better than that!

If language wasn't a barrier, I'd head back to ancient Greece and tag along with Alexander the Great. I'd also like to hang with Julius Caesar when he was in Gaul, prior to the Rubicon.
If I had to speak the language, then I'd probably pick the 1760s so that I could understand better the many issues that contributed to the Revolution.

Re: What decade would you live in?
the dark ages have always fascinated me knights and the weapons of that era. but i would probably go back to the 60's loved the music and reliving the 70's and 80's wouldn't be that bad.

I've got to go with the 1940's. I'm a huge fan of Old Time Radio and the classic movies of Bogie, Cagney...
There was that problem with the war, though... |

Re: What decade would you live in?
This is a great question. My wife and I talk about this once in a while.
We think post-war '40s into the fifties would be perfect for us. The great music that you can dance too, big giant cars, a hardworking man could support his family without his wife working, and good family values make this era a great choice for us. I wanna be able to walk into a club, have the waiter carry a tiny cocktail table down to the front, order a bottle of hooch, light a cigar, and dance with my wife. I think that would be a much better life than putting up with how lousy our society has become. Oooo, don't get me started!

Re: What decade would you live in?
Sorry, but everytime I start to think of any particular era, I find something about it to be more objectionable than that of my own.

Re: What decade would you live in?
I was born in the 50's and remember what it was like because after WWII it was a period of rapid growth and the only bad thing going on was the Korean conflict. Other than that, people respected each other more than they do today, kids respected their elders and people were more honest and held to a higher standard. We didn't have to worry about playing outside and any crazy weirdos trying to kidnap you,,,,we were free to do so much more instead of playing video games and rotting our minds and bodies because we exercised all day long. How many kids are overweight, out of shape, on ritalyn or sufferring some other "childhood" disease in todays society? I'll take any decade before the 90's as the last 20 years have brought more issues in regard to moral decay, dishonesty in the business world and illnesses than I can remember.

My ancestors were wealthy land owners and I would have enjoyed the unspoiled landscape of California!!! This is also around the time of Zorro!!!
