Mets hold on and actually win one in walk-off fashion against the Cubs, 5-4. So far, so good for my "expectations at the end of the season"...since the playoffs are out (again

#1: .500 record: 71-73 (still within striking distance)

#2: 3rd Place in NL East: 4 game lead over Washington

#3: NL Batting Title: Reyes leads Braun .335 to .331. (Mets have never had a batting title winner in their history)
