Mac Baren Plumcake

Tin Aroma: Latakia with a sweet rum and slight saltiness.

Smoked two bowls, one that was right of out tin and one that was left out for 45 mins before smoking. Lots of tongue bite right out of the tin, Little to no tongue bite on the bowl that was "dried out" for 45 mins.

Smoke Aroma: burning tobacco with a slight sweet smokiness.

Flavors: prominent latakia mixed with a sweet virginia tobacco flavor. A bit of spice and slight sweetness from the rum casing which tastes more like fruit than rum. A nice perique sweetness/fruityness weaves in an out, yet this blend has no perique.

Thick smokey finish in the mouth.

Slight gurgle halfway through the bowl.

Flavor remains much the same throughout the rest of the bowl.

Overall score: 8/10 - Not bad! Very different sort of blend!

Wow MJ, I'm surprised you were able to smoke that. It is flame-thrower in a tin to my tongue. Good on you!

Haha, yeah I remember you saying something about Mac Baren bitting your tongue. In that first bowl when I smoked it "wet" it was a little bit bad, but the second bowl was very nice.

I tried this last year or year before and found it rather enjoyable, Couldn't help but feeling like a sailor or a pirate.

Not bad at all. I'm usually susceptible to a nic hit, and I didn't notice any nic hit.

I bought a pouch of this. Smoked a first bowl into a Sav Charchwarden and got some tonguebites. I gave another try to it last night and could not finish it cause this time it was more like tongueburn. I still can feel the burn of it on the tip of my tongue... :/

Still not yet.

It will be the next tin I open, I promise. I smoke very sparingly nowadays.
