The blues are probably the most popular blend in the 601 line. Eric and Eddie have some great stuff and now that Patel is doing the distribution you should see a drop in price. However Rocky and Pepin don't always see eye to eye so we will have to see what happens to the blend, hopefully nothing.

finally got around to trying a 601 blue the other day and thought I would share my thoughts
![]() 5.2x52 Construction: good, not soft spots a few larger veins Prelight: simple cut and first draw is sweet tobacco First Third: sweet tobacco, coffee and cocoa Draw: on the tight side but not difficult Burn: good waivers a little but no need for touch up Ash/Smoke: ash is firm and a good amount of smoke Second Third: the coffee cocoa combo still remains Final third: pretty consistent flavor and for those that like a sweeter maduro this is right up your alley Strength: medium Flavor: medium Overall: when I read in the first post that this was a better cigar than the JJ maduro I was excited, maybe too excited, the JJ maddie is one of my favorites and I really enjoy the subtle spice and pepper that mixes in the with sweet flavors, I also feel the JJ is a more complex cigar with many flavors coming in and out of predominance though out the experience that said this was not a bad cigar, just not in my wheel house Scoring Construction: 9/10 Prelight: 4/5 First Third: 12/15 Draw: 9/10 Burn: 9/10 Ash / Smoke: 8/10 Second Third: 8/10 Final Third: 8/10 Overall impression: 17/20 Total Score: 84/100 |

Thanks for the review guys. I definitely need to check this stick out some time. I've had the black and the green, and have a few red lying around, but have never tried this one. The only concern I have is that I loved the JJ but detested the one JJ maduro I tried. Although I know some people really like them, I thought it was pretty gross. I hope if I try this it is not like the JJ maddy I had.

Bought a five pack of these a few weeks ago and smoked one the other day. I'm pretty new to cigars but I loved it. Can't wait to smoke another. Great review!!

So RP hasn't had a negative impact on quality? I've heard nothing but pure love for the blues but almost nothing about the greens. I think once my employment situation improves I'll pick up a few of each and have a taste test.
